WBAB CARES ABOUT LONG ISLAND

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
Cox Radio WBLI and WBAB accept Public Service Announcements to be broadcasted on our community calendar and web site. Here are a few guidelines that will help get your public service announcement on faster.

Public service announcements should be written on company letterhead and sent at least two weeks prior to an event. Your announcement should be basic, including, dates, times, locations, and contact info. Public service announcements are on a first come first serve basis and are not guaranteed to be put on the air or website. We will make every effort to afford each organization public service announcements.

If you have any questions on PSA'S or would like to forward one to us for our community calendar, please contact Suzanne Riccio, Community Affairs Director at 631-587-1023 or fax at 631-587-1282, or Email suzanne@coxradio.com

COMMUNITY RELATIONS
The work of Cox Radio Long Island-WBAB does not end when the microphone is turned off. It extends beyond the airways and into the communities of Long Island. Many schools, hospitals, charities and civic groups have been impacted by WBAB's involvement in their communities. Making hundreds of appearances a year by WBAB's Air Staff, Promotional Team, and interns, many communities on Long Island have felt WBAB's presence.

WBAB's Community Relations Department handles a broad range of requests for station involvement. These include everything from appearance requests for air staff, promotional vehicles, and spots on Plugged In To Long Island , to managing in-kind donation requests, partnering on fund-raisers and the production of public service announcements.

DONATION REQUESTS
Due to the large number of requests that we receive, WBAB has established a regional policy for donations of prizes. Organizations within Suffolk and Nassau Counties will generally receive support from WBAB depending on the nature and scope of the request or event. All requests must be made in writing to the community relations department at least four to six weeks in advance. WBAB is happy to support non-profit organizations and schools when we are able to do so. All requests will be reviewed, although a request does not guarantee a WBAB prize. Our support depends on availability of prizes and the time of year of your request.

CONTACT INFORMATION
All requests for WBAB donations and appearances must be submitted in writing on your organization's letterhead at least 45 days prior to the event. Letters should include a contact person, phone number, address, and type of event, date, time, and topic of speech, group, group size and directions to the event location. Address your letter to: Suzanne Riccio, Community Affairs Director, WBAB Radio, 555 Sunrise Hwy, West Babylon, NY 11704.

If your request is for a non-air staff appearance, you can expect to hear back from us within ten business days. You will often be notified earlier by phone. Air Staff appearances are generally confirmed 2-3 weeks prior to the event.
