Thomas was nominated by his Peer, James, who said “Officer Thomas Considine was hired by NYPD July 9, 2013. He worked in the 46, the 113 and then Queens South Wheel located in the 107th PCT. While growing up in Massapequa he always dreamed of serving Nassau County. On June 18, 2021 he was hired by the Nassau County Police Department. After graduating the Police Academy he was assigned to the 7th Pct where he grew up and a dream was made a reality.
Tragically on March 15 ,2023 his world changed, He was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Surgery was performed but unfortunately after a PETS scan a cancerous lymph node was found in the back of his abdomen. Officer Considine underwent radiation treatment from June 19th to July 10th and the cancer was reduced but not all tests came back positive and inclusive. Upcoming scans are scheduled to see if the cancer has spread to other parts of his body.
As a husband and a father of a 2 year old daughter he has a lot to deal with. He has continued to protect and serve the residents of Nassau County all while undergoing these treatments. Officer Considine doesn’t know what the future holds, however his positive and optimistic attitude leave him feeling that he will lead a long healthy and happy life with his family while also having a fulfilling career as a Nassau County Police Officer.”
Thomas, thanks for all you do for the community. As a way of saying thanks, you will receive a $100 gift card for Moe’s Southwest Grill.
