Tom Gross | Honoree for August 18th, 2023

Tom was nominated by a friend, Amy, who wrote “Tom is a working foreman in overhead lines at PSEG Long Island. As a lineworker, every day Tom works with high voltage electricity, often while straddling a utility pole or 60′ up in a bucket – the work is both physical and mental. He has been on the job for more than 35 years, restoring power after storms and accidents take down poles and lines. He also provides training and education to apprentices. As he tells the next generation, working in the elements isn’t easy work. The winters are unforgiving and the summers are hot, which adds another layer of challenges to the already challenging job. Tom and his fellow lineworkers work in the darkness of night and in storms, when conditions are safe enough, but he tells me it’s all part of the job he loves. Tom does so much for his community and is as humble as they come. Thank you for honoring him.”

Tom, thanks for all you do for the community. As a way of saying thanks, you will receive a $100 gift card for Moe’s Southwest Grill.
