On December 21st 2020 Paul McCartney tweeted out a nearly 6 minute sneak peak clip of Peter Jackson’s “The Beatles: Get Back”.
As Jackson explains in an intro to the sneak peak, the film was originally due to be in theaters around now.
Obviously the release has been backed up by the pandemic.
It now has a release slated for August 27th 2021.
Jackson also explains this a not a trailer for the film.
This is a look at some of the 56 hours of never before seen footage it will feature.
This movie builds on “Let It Be” that was shot in the same sessions.
But this glimpse of the film has a lighter feel than it’s predecessor.
According to Rolling Stone, Ringo Starr was quoted as saying “There were hours and hours of us just laughing and playing music, not at all like the version that came out. There was a lot of joy and I think Peter will show that. I think this version will be a lot more peace and loving, like we really were.”
