Joe Rock and WBAB have teamed up with Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue & Adoption to help find your Pawfect Pet!
Each Wednesday, Joe will choose a Pet of the Week and will highlight that pet! A new pet will be chosen and featured each week!

Meet Love Bug! Love Bug lived up to her name... even in the most heartbreaking circumstances.
This sweet mama and her seven tiny puppies found themselves in a crowded Georgia shelter, where the overwhelming influx of animals means impossible decisions are made every single day. With no space and no time left, Love Bug and her babies were at serious risk...another family facing the unthinkable simply because there were too many and not enough help.
But we couldn’t let that be their ending.
Through our No Mother Left Behind program, we stepped in and brought Love Bug and all seven of her precious puppies to safety. Now, instead of fear and uncertainty, they have warm beds, full bellies, and the chance to experience love the way it was always meant to be.
This is exactly why this program exists...to make sure mamas and their babies are never left behind when they need us most.
But we can’t do this without you. Every rescue like Love Bug’s requires medical care, transport, supplies, and ongoing support. If you believe that families like hers deserve a second chance, please consider making a donation to our No Mother Left Behind program.
And soon... these beautiful puppies (and their amazing mama!) will be ready for the next chapter-forever homes of their own. If you’ve been thinking about adopting, this is your sign.

Save-A-Pet is a 501c3 no-kill shelter and have rescued and re-homed over 40,000 companion animals. We rely solely on donations. Save-A-Pet is located in the heart of Long Island in Port Jefferson Station. We have a low-cost vaccination and spay/neuter clinic. At Save-A-Pet’s Long Island animal shelter, we believe it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes. We provide spay and neuter services for Long Island feral cats and any necessary medical care for pets. We work diligently to educate the public, especially children, on the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals.
If you are looking to adopt a pet, please view the dogs and cats at our Long Island adoption shelter and then fill out our online adoption application at saveapetusa.org
