Actor Yaphet Kotto, James Bond villain and ‘Alien’ star, dies at age 81 (NCD)

Actor Yaphet Kotto, who played Mr. Big in the James Bond film “Live and Let Die,” has died at age 81, multiple news outlets are reporting.

According to Variety and KCBS, his wife, Tessie Sinahon, took to Facebook to say Kotto, also known for his roles in “Alien” and the TV series “Homicide: Life on the Street,” died Monday night.

“You played a villain on some of your movies, but for me you’re a real hero and to a lot of people also,” she wrote. “A good man, a good father, a good husband and a decent human being, very rare to find.”

I'm saddened and still in shocked of the passing of my husband Yaphet of 24 years. He died last night around 10:30pm...

Kotto’s agent, Ryan Goldhar, also confirmed the news of the actor’s death, Variety reported.

In addition to his wife, Kotto is survived by six children, according to Variety.
