According to KIRO-TV, the Port of Seattle Fire Department said the blaze occurred about 8:30 p.m. Monday as Flight 751 from New Orleans was waiting for a gate at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Emergency crews responded to the scene and put out the fire using a battery containment bag, the news outlet reported.
Authorities evacuated six crew members and 128 passengers from the 737-900 aircraft, which was towed to the gate, according to KIRO. Buses took the passengers – including some who had suffered minor injuries – to the terminal, officials said.
