Dubbing himself “CAMputee” in a series of good-natured Instagram posts on Friday, 32-year-old Ayala shared his progress following the removal of his right leg, including the “FAITHoverFEAR” hashtag, Entertainment Tonight reported.
Lymphedema occurs when tissue swells as a result of a fluid build-up typically drained through the body’s lymphatic system, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Ayala also told Instagram followers how his faith is aiding his recovery, Access Hollywood reported.
According to ET, Ayala said that he was first diagnosed with lymphedema in 2002 but never wanted to make it public “because I never wanted sympathy or for people to feel sorry for me.”
