WATCH: Man Accused Of Stealing Truck To Get To Court For Separate Vehicle Theft Charge

An Oklahoma man is facing new charges after allegedly stealing a vehicle to attend his court hearing for a prior unauthorized vehicle use case. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 28-year-old Cody Adams was at a gas station in Stillwater asking for a ride to his court date in Pawnee. When he couldn’t secure a ride, Adams reportedly took an unoccupied LifeNet Emergency Services pickup that had been left running. Adams drove himself to the courthouse but was arrested after being spotted by a trooper, who said Adams “ditched” the stolen vehicle upon arrival. Despite being arrested, Adams made it to his court hearing, where he was facing charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle and bringing contraband into a jail. Adams was later taken back to Payne County, where he was charged with vehicle larceny and given a $10,000 bond. (From YouTube video description)
