Supervisor Steve Bellone Announces Town Beaches and Most Pools Have Re-Opened

Tanner Park and Venetian Shores Boat Launches are Free-of-Charge for Babylon Town Residents Through Friday, September 2nd

Town of Babylon Supervisor Steve Bellone has announced that as of mid-day on Monday, the Town of Babylon's beaches and most pools are back open for residents.

Beaches
Overlook Beach and Cedar Beach are open and fully operational. Gilgo Beach is open, although as it is running without power, the Town has brought in porta-potties to accommodate beachgoers. Cedar Beach Marina will open Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. 

Pools
Fabio Buttitta Pool in Deer Park, North Amityville Pool and North Lindenhurst Pool are open normal hours. The spray park and kiddie pool are open at Phelps Lane Park, however the main pool is currently closed. Anthony Sanchez Pool in West Babylon remains closed until further notice.

Spray Parks
Venetian Shores in Lindenhurst is currently open regular hours. The beach is closed to swimming, but the spray park is fully operational. Tanner Park remains closed until further notice.

Boat Launches
Any Town of Babylon residents who wish to put their boats in the water can use the boat launches at Tanner Park in Copiague and Venetian Shores Park in Lindenhurst free of charge through the end of the day Friday, September 2nd. Please keep in mind that while the Tanner Park boat launch is currently open, the rest of the park remains closed for the time being.
